Welcome to the world of Petit Loulou!

At Petit Loulou, every creation begins with an expression.

Before coming to life, each character is imagined with its own personality, emotions and story.
Designed and handcrafted in my studio in France, every collectible piece and DIY sewing kit are created to spark the imagination and evoke emotion.

Who is behind Petit Loulou?

It’s me, Mathilde Fabry.

Before founding Petit Loulou, I spent over ten years working as a 3D character artist in the animation industry, contributing to feature films, television series and commercials in France and Canada. That experience taught me that the smallest expression can reveal a character’s entire personality.

Today, I bring that same approach to every Petit Loulou creation. Before choosing fabrics or sewing the first stitch, I imagine a character, its expression and the story it has to tell.

Petit Loulou was born in Canada in 2015 and later found its home in France, where I now design and create each collection in my studio in Charente.

From pixels to textiles, bringing personality to characters has always been at the heart of my work. Today, Petit Loulou is my own way of sharing those characters with you.

Petit Loulou story

Petit Loulou was born in Vancouver, Canada, in 2015 driven by the desire to create different plushies with a personality. After a few years in Vancouver and then Montreal, my journey ultimately brought me to France, where I set up my workshop in Angoulême. This international path has shaped my identity and allowed me to infuse my creations with a unique, cosmopolitan touch.

Since the beginning, I’ve had one simple goal: to create high-quality plush toys that bring softness and a touch of magic to everyone who holds them. Each creation is carefully designed to combine quality, durability, and a design that tells a story. From the first sketch to the final stitch, every detail is the result of meticulous work and a genuine love for my craft.

Thoughtfully Made

When I create a new collection or a DIY sewing kit, I pay as much attention to the choice of materials and the way each piece is made as I do to its personality and expression.

Whenever possible, I source my materials from trusted local or European suppliers and look for ways to reduce waste throughout my creative process. Fabric offcuts and cardboard packaging are carefully reused whenever possible, giving each material a second life.

Whether I'm creating a collectible plush, a sewing kit or a custom textile creation from a drawing, illustration, logo or mascot, my goal remains the same: to create expressive characters that tell a story, evoke emotion and spark the imagination.
