Book Review: Art for Baby

Following last week's post on How Contrast & Colours Help Your Child’s Development, I wanted to share a board book which would be perfect to look through with your little one during his or her first months of life. Art for Baby is a high contrast picture book that comprises work from eleven contemporary artists, and that you can explore with your child. The book was curated by Yana Peel.

As we mentioned in our last post, newborns can mainly see shades of white, gray, and black which makes this book a must-have for your little one's growing personal library. This book is very engaging for young ones, and it's a nice change from the typical childrens' books about animals. It also serves to introduce you and your child some wonderful artists that you might not be familiar with!

Art for Baby also comes with a nursery frieze displaying all the images featured in the book.

The contemporary artists featured include: Josef Albers, Patrick Caulfield, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Gary Hume, Kazimir Malevich, Paul Morrison, Takashi Murakami, Julian Opie, Bridget Riley, and David Shrigley.

This book is perfect for kids aged 3 to 18 months!
